Don’t purchase Farmers insurance before reading this Farmers car insurance review!

Farmers insurance group has been in business for 80 years providing different insurance solutions at various costs to their customers around the United States. Farmers, however, is one of the few major insurance companies that doesn’t offer auto insurance in all 50 states. If you live in Alaska, Delaware, Washington DC, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Carolina, or West Virginia, then you will not be able to buy Farmers car insurance.

What types of insurance does Farmer’s offer?

Farmers insurance group is one of the insurers out there who offers a variety of insurance solutions. You can purchase car insurance, life insurance, business insurance, boat insurance and much, much more through Farmers.

Having so many options in one place means that you can have a single insurance company for all of your insurance needs, if you don’t want to end up paying for various, individual policies. It could also be beneficial if you need multiple auto policies if you own many different vehicles. Bundling is a great way to save money.

While Farmers insurance group, as the name implies, began their service by selling auto insurance to farmers and ranchers, these days they sell to anyone in the states they can be found, with much more personalized service options than just the types of coverage that would appeal to farmers and ranchers.

How financially stable is the Farmers insurance group?

The Farmers insurance group has an A.M. Best rating of A and a Standard & Poor’s rating of AA-. The A score equals a strong rating and the AA- score means very strong. The reason that these scores are so important is that this is how you know whether or not the company you choose can pay out claims and make good on their customers investments. You don’t want to get insurance coverage through a company that won’t be able to make good on an insurance claim.

Because the Farmers insurance group offers annuities, IRAs, 401Ks and other investment opportunities, their financial ratings are even more important. Many of the investment solutions that you choose are not protected by the government, which means that you need to choose a financially strong company.

The bottom line is that you should feel comfortable buying your insurance products such as auto coverage from Farmers. Though they offer additional coverage options and not just auto insurance. They have a solid standing and their future prospects are good. You can always look at customer reviews if you need further proof. Because it’s a consumer driven market, finding out what the customer experience with a company is going to be like is considered heavily important. If a company has too many customer complaints, it won’t matter if they offer the lowest prices; most people are interested in customer satisfaction as well as affordable options.

Does the Farmers insurance group offer coverage at low costs?

The truth is that Farmers doesn’t guarantee that they will provide you with lowest price in the insurance industry. What they do offer, however, is a little bit extra to their customers in terms of customer service, as well as free advice.

On their website you can find articles and reviews about their products. You will find extensive tips on how to save on your auto insurance. That’s definitely a step above some other auto insurance companies.

Where Farmers really stands out, however, is with the discounts that they offer. Some companies offer general discounts that you can get at just about any insurance company, however, Farmers offers discounts that are even more personalized. You typically see discounts offered for a clean driving record or a good credit score, but they take it one step further.

For example, Farmers offers a newlywed discount. Most insurance companies offer you a discount if you are married, but they don’t distinguish between how long you have been married. Farmers knows that newlyweds tend to drive a bit safer. The same thing applies to new parents.

In addition, Farmers offers a discount for teen drivers. That’s right, this is a company that doesn’t assume that your teen driver is going to wreck your car. The catch here is that your teen will have to attend a defensive driving class offered by Farmers, in order to ensure that your teen is going to practice safe driving habits. This is one of the few insurance companies that offers this sort of discount.

In addition, you can purchase their FlexPlan, which allows you to lock in your insurance rates. While this is only applicable for a newer vehicle, if you have an accident or two while you are covered by their FlexPlan, then your insurance rates won’t go up.

If you don’t make a claim, your deductible is reduced by $100 a year, up to $500. Your insurance rates still reflect the deductible, but you want have to pay it at the time of an accident, if you have one.

Is a Farmers auto insurance policy right for you?

It is very possible that Farmers is the best auto insurer for you, depending on what coverage options you’re in the market for. Before you buy however, you need to compare the rates between Farmers and other insurance companies. Start with the standard coverage offered, without any sort of discounts applied. You may find that, even with all of the benefits that Farmers offers, the rates are too high for your budget. Conversely, they may end up offering you the cheapest annual cost, depending on the type of coverage you’re looking into.

The bottom line is that unless you compare Farmers with other major insurers, you simply won’t know whether or not you are getting the best average cost. Getting an insurance quote could be the difference between paying the lowest rates and overpaying.
